In accordance with Article IV, Section 7 of the KOTESOL Bylaws, the following motion has been duly submitted and approved as urgent by the President, 1VP, and 2VP. It will be posted on the website for member input for one week. Members who wish to comment should email the national secretary, and their email comments will be forwarded to the National Council.
Discussion will happen among National Council members by email until the voting date, October 19. At that time NC members will be called upon to vote by email upon the motion that an additional 300,000 won be allocated to budget item 6860 – Event – Guest Eventday Hospitality.

Explanation: “I would like to request funds for IC hospitality. These funds are used to provide our partner organization reps with accommodation for 3 nights. (This is per our signed agreements with those partners. This is reciprocated when our reps go to our partners’ conferences.) These funds also allow for one meal during a meeting of the reps, which will be Saturday lunch this year.
Due to having to use a different hotel this year, the cost is higher than was budgeted for.
This request is urgent because we need to pay these bills on conference weekend.
I request an additional 300,000 won.”
On October 19, National Council members will vote by email. Following the Bylaws, “the votes shall be entered into the minutes of the subsequent National Council meeting as the first item(s) under ‘Old Business.’”
